This post introduces the QSA Adapter, QSFP28/QSFP+ to SFP28/SFP+ Converter Module.

What is a QSA Adapter?

The QSA Adapter enables a connections between a single lane transceiver or cable and a quad-lane port.

Optech’s converter module provides the option to connect an 25G SFP28 or 10G SFP+ transceiver/cable to a 100G QSFP28 port or 40G QSFP+ port.

Why should you use a QSA Adapter?

The QSA Adapter enables a cost-effective migration to 100G Ethernet by providing the flexibility to use lower speed 10G SFP+ or 25G SFP28 transceiver or cable in a QSFP28 or QSFP+ port.

 QSA Adapters are frequently use during the process of upgrading to a 100G network. It provides the option to use any SFP28/SFP+ transceiver or cable to connect to a lower-speed port on the older equipment.
