1. 400G OSFP Transceivers

OSFP was originally introduced to meet the thermal and density challenges of 400G high-performance optics. The following 400G modules are widely deployed:

400G OSFP-SR4

  • Short-reach module using multimode fiber
  • MPO-12 interface
  • Transmission distance: up to 100 meters (OM4)
  • Application: TOR switch-to-switch in hyperscale DCs

400G OSFP-DR4

  • Single-mode 500m reach with 4x100G PAM4 lanes
  • MPO-12 connector
  • Ideal for spine-to-leaf architecture
  • Compatible with breakout to 100G DR modules

400G OSFP-DR4+

  • Improved version with extended reach to 2km
  • Works well in AI/ML clusters using NVIDIA Quantum switches
  • Fully compliant with OSFP MSA and IEEE 802.3bs

2. 800G OSFP Transceivers

With the AI boom and proliferation of GPU clusters, 800G OSFP is now standard in InfiniBand and Ethernet HPC networking. QSFPDD800G offers the following:

800G OSFP-2xSR4

  • Dual 400G SR4 in one OSFP module
  • 8x50G PAM4 on multimode fiber
  • MPO-12×2 connector
  • Perfect for high-density short-reach leaf-server links

800G OSFP-2xDR4

  • Dual 400G DR4 architecture
  • 8x100G PAM4 over SMF
  • Up to 500m reach
  • Common in NVIDIA-based distributed GPU training topologies

800G OSFP-2xDR4+

  • Extended 2km reach
  • Uses 100G PAM4 lanes over SMF
  • Compatible with NVIDIA SN5600, SN4700

800G OSFP-2xER4

  • Long-haul version with 40km reach
  • CWDM4 optics, dual LC duplex connector
  • Used in metro DCI and hyperscale interconnects

3. 1.6T OSFP Transceivers – Ready for the Next Leap
